There are two types of structural theories functionalist theories and conflict theories.In some ways I feel like i am a structuralist because I agree with what we are part of a society and grow within it in some way. we live in a society and therefore wouldn't be able to live without alot of the things that we are involved in eg church. Some people would say the church has a community in which they intergrate in. It as hopes to bring peace,harmonyand stability However others would say that that is not the role ao a church,it is a place of worship not a place to seek harmony. On the other hand I don't believe that society only exists if it has a function. eg Family might not prepare your for the world you live in and people don't always integrate easily. Conflict theories I find harder to agree with. I don't believe that society is a structured whole because it is made up of so many different kinds of structures so it is imposible to put this into 1 catagory.
